Mr. Han Lih-wu is Secretary to the

British Boxer Indemnity Trust: he is an official in the

Chinese Civil Service and has joined the committee with

the approval of the Minister for Education. He should

be a particularly valuable member.

Pending the report of the committee

there is nothing further of value that I can give you,

but a despatch will follow as soon as that report has

been considered.

Sloss asks me to say that he will

keep a great part of July free to see you at your

convenience, as he presumes that August is not a good

month for you, and he will be leaving before the beginning

of September.
